Building materials - classics and newcomers
With the natureplus web seminar series "Building Materials of the Future" we take a look at the building materials of tomorrow. Building materials of the future must provide a holistic answer to the question of sustainability: they should be durable, produced with the least possible use of energy and raw materials, reusable or recyclable to a high standard, and free of harmful substances.
In this forum, our cooperation partners and sponsors introduce themselves.

DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH
Mineral waste - an important economic factor!
With more than 200 million tonnes per year, mineral waste is the largest waste stream in Germany and an important economic factor. Currently, over 90 percent of construction and demolition waste is recycled. Over 56 percent is used in recultivation measures and backfilling of pits, quarries and opencast mines (backfilling/other recycling). About 35 per cent are reused as recycled building materials in technical structures. Only 8.3 per cent have to be disposed of in landfills.
The bvse trade association Mineralik - Recycling und Verwertung is committed to continuing this success story. We offer our members a platform for defining and asserting their own interests, exchanging ideas among themselves, discussing legal principles and transferring new technologies and developments.
