natureplus at Building Green Hamburg 2024
Insights and networking highlights from our new Trainee and Junior Architect, Vjosa Rama.
Hey Green Builders!
We just wrapped up an amazing time at Building Green Hamburg 2024, and I’m thrilled to share my experience. I am Vjosa Rama, a junior architect from Kosovo with a keen interest in environmental sustainability, innovative eco-building and urban planning. I participate as the new intern at natureplus, a role I am excited to undertake thanks to the “Young Professionals for Societal Transformation” program implemented by GIZ.
natureplus shines bright
As knowledge partner the natureplus association contributed to Building Green Hamburg by showcasing innovative eco-friendly building materials. Our booth attracted many visitors interested in architectural solutions that help reduce carbon footprints and achieve healthier living environments. We also hosted a session on the importance of using certified sustainable building materials for environmental-friendly conservation of our building stock. Eco-labels give helpful orientation and are a usful planning tool for architects that have to realize sustainable, certifed or funded building projects.
My impressions
As a junior architect intern, the Building Green event in Hamburg was eye-opening for me! It was a remarkable platform for exchanging knowledge and networking with professionals dedicated to sustainability in construction. It featured a wide array of exhibitors and lectures that highlighted the latest advancements in green building practices. I also could attend a lecture by my favorite architect and urban planner, Jan Gehl. He played a key role in developing Copenhagen into a cycling and pedestrian city.
natureplus Network
We had a fantastic network of natureplus members and manufactures with certified products there. Manufactures like Berg&Berg, GUTEX, Fundermax and Lignotrend and partners like Pro Clima and Halm showcased their latest products and services, highlighting their commitment to sustainable building practices. It was great to connect with like-minded professionals and see the community in action.
For all searching for sustainable materials in Hamburg, the natureplus merchant Mordhorst and the interior architect Stefanie Reschke with her Materialraum are happy to help anytime.
Looking ahead
Overall, the Building Green Hamburg was a success, reinforcing the importance of collaboration and innovation in achieving a sustainable future in construction. The event underscored that sustainable building is both achievable and essential for our future. I’m thrilled to be part of the natureplus Team and excited about what’s next. I can’t wait to contribute to our mission of promoting sustainable building and materials.
